World of Warcraft's upcoming Legacy expansion, Wrath of the Lich King Classic, will reintroduce players to the game's first hero class, just as it originally brought players back in 2008.
Death Knights are playable classes for all races in WotLK, and similar to Warriors, they are plate wearers with a specialization that can be both a melee DPS and a tank at the same time. Their talents are spread across three trees. Blood focuses on the tank side of the class, while Frost and Unholy Tree are designed to maximize damage.
Like all classes in World of Warcraft, their talent trees and abilities have changed over the years, and death knights are no exception. If you've played the course on the game's retail client, you may notice some differences when you enter WotLK Classic.
Probably the biggest change between the retail version and the classic version is the expandable and customizable talent tree that exists in the legacy expansion.
Fortunately, as players prepare for WotLK, there are a few online resources that players can use to re-familiarize themselves with the Death Knight talent tree they haven't used in over 10 years. Sites like the WotLK database and wowhead have talent calculators that players can use to figure out exactly how they want to customize their DK. By the way, you can buy wotlk classic gold to make your character stronger.
World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King Classic Talent Tree
Blood
If you want to play as a DK tank, you'll want to dive into this talent tree. Skills such as Vampire Blood and Heart Strike are key elements of the gameplay. Heart Strike can be an important part of your rotation. Meanwhile, Vampire Blood is a precious one-minute cooldown that increases your health.
Additionally, Necropolis' Will and Enhanced Death Strike can give you damage reduction and stronger healing.
Frost
In WotLK, both Frost and Unholy specs can act as damage dealers, with Frost being one of the more powerful damage-handling specs in the game from the start.
This tree is highlighted by Frost Strike, an instant melee ability that consumes runic power and acts as a catalyst for Frost Death Knight's rotation. Meanwhile, the other talents in this tree revolve around keeping your target in Frost Frenzy to boost your damage.
Unholy
The evil death knight is known for its extremely powerful AOE damage and Scourge strike ability, which is near the bottom of its talent tree. Some of its other damage-maximizing highlights include increasing your use of Night of the Dead and Master Ghoul's ghouls, both of which increase your ability to resurrect the dead. Meanwhile, Crypt Fever and Ebon Plageubringer make your disease stronger.
